Hair:
This is a classical production and I would like to have
ALL dancers hair pulled back into a bun (bangs included).
Use lots of hair spray/gel and bobbi pins to pull bangs
back. (If their hair is short and will not go into a bun,
bobbi pin it back away from face.). Hair must be done
prior to dress rehearsals & show. Babysitters will not
do the hair for you.
The only exception to a bun are those in the Party
Scene.
Those students are to wear their hair in a half ponytail
and all hair in tight ringlet curls. (the students in the
Party Scene AND Arabian dance: the babysitters will
put their hair in a bun after the party scene is over. I
will provide the bun makers, hair ties, bobbi pins.)
No bright hair color allowed.
Make-Up: It is your decision in applying make up or not. The stage lights tend to wash out the face, so I do
recommend a foundation. Please do not use blue
eyeshadow or red, bright pink lipstick (does not look
good under the lights). If you do not want to use
mascara, just use eyeliner to accent the eyes. A soft
pink lipstick and blush will give their face color make them look oh so pretty! Make up must be done prior
to dress rehearsal & show. Babysitters will not put
the make up on for you.
Special Make Up: Some dances will have special make
up that we will apply back stage.
Mice: will have black whiskers drawn on and pink
lipstick on the end of their nose.
Polichinelles: will have black long lashes drawn on
above & below the eyes, red round circles on the
cheeks (either lipstick or stickers)
Soldiers: red round circles on the cheeks (either
lipstick or stickers)
Jewelry: earring, bracelets, watches, necklaces are not
allowed as it can get caught up in the
costumes/tutus, could get broken, or get lost.
Nail Polish: please remove all colored nail polish prior
to dress rehearsal & show.
